2007 has been both a revelation, revolution and realisation for Cascade. Founded in 1992 Cascade has been a successful developer and supplier of human resource and payroll solutions for 15 years with steady growth over that period. However, 2007 has been a year of significant success in every aspect of our business.
The advent of our .Net HR solution in 2004 (our first live install of our flagship solution) has been a total revelation for our company and our clients. Whilst the technology itself is more advanced than traditional 'client' based systems and has allowed us to differentiate from our competitors still supporting older technology, the design methodology of our application has also allowed us to stand head and shoulders above the few competitors who have had the foresight to re develop their applications into the .Net environment.
This has allowed Cascade to have a hugely successful year through the award of an unparalleled number of new contracts, many of whom are high profile UK and International organisations.

Reasons for selecting Cascade differ from organisation to organisation. GNER expressed confidence in our ability to understand their project needs, recognise risk and deliver a quality project. Their confidence has been confirmed recently when Tom Ramsay, GNER IS Director said, "I am very happy with the way it has gone as Cascade have delivered a working system in a very short time frame and on budget."
Other organisations had other concerns. CHEP required a solution which would be easily rolled out to their international workforce and could be hosted through the supplier, both strong selling points for Cascade HR. Not all of our clients are large organisations though. In fact a large number of the clients listed above who have selected cascade in 2007 are under 500 employees. Wesco Aircraft identified the need for a flexible, pro active system that they could configure themselves thereby avoiding expensive, and often unbudgeted, costs that they had incurred with previous suppliers. This is a key benefit of Cascade which Wesco identified over a long and detailed selection process.
As well as new clients 2007 has seen massive progress and change at Cascade. We have doubled in size to 30 employees and expect to reach 35 employees by the end of quarter 1 2008. To support this increase we have recently invested in a new office building, still in Pudsey, Leeds, which is currently undergoing a quarter of a million pound refurbishment so it is ready to accommodate our growing number of staff (targeted to be 50 employees by 2010) and allow us to continue to deliver high quality software and services to our growing client base.
It is very satisfying for Cascade's Directors to welcome new staff and see them become part of our close knit and friendly team. As well as a financial success the Directors set a goal to have a happy, friendly and committed team of employees and this has been a key achievement this year. New staff have integrated into the team without problem and have become old friends quickly. This is very rewarding for us. Probably one of the most telling signs of our success is the sea of happy faces at our much larger Christmas party this year!
2007 has been the realisation of 15 years hard work on behalf of Cascade’s Directors and employees. 2008 will see a continuation of the success we have worked for in 2007 and key milestones, such as the new office, will be pivotal as we move forward. In 2008 Cascade will be attending 4 of the foremost industry trade shows and will display an all new, custom stand at CIP in June at Olympia.
With a solid client base, new offices, a dedicated team of employees and unique software to offer the Directors of Cascade look upon 2007 as a launch platform for Cascade to establish itself as the market leader in .Net HR and Payroll solutions. We look forward to providing an equally positive report in 12 months time.
